Born in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Currently living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have led a pretty humdrum life so far. My real legacy began in 1995 with my marriage to my soul mate, Rudy and the birth of our daughter Devi. That was over 19 years ago and since then we’ve had 5 more amazing children and I must say, being a mom is hands down THE best job I’ve ever had.
You’ll read more about my family on other pages of this site but I want to use this page to tell you how things in my life have shaped who I am and who I still plan to become. Let’s start with growing up. This isn’t your typical, what I’ve learned from my parents tale. Although I did learn a lot of what not to dos from my mother, there were some good things she taught me, like….
Independence – Being a single mom, my mom never felt like she had to rely on a man to take care of her. This caused some friction early in my marriage but in the long run, this independence trickled down to me and contributed to my personality in a positive way.
Stubbornness – Not such a great quality for most but I was able to channel that quality into tenacity and use it to complete things I otherwise might not have been able to complete.
Compassion for others – My mom taught me to be kind to everyone I met. I grew up watching her work the information booth at our church and reaching out to everyone who passed by with kindness and compassion.
These experiences shaped me, made me who I am today. For that I am thankful.
